Your Questions, Answered
What’s the first step in buying a home?
The first step is to meet with Ray and his lender partner to get pre-approved. This tells you exactly how much you can afford, shows sellers you’re serious, and helps us focus on homes that fit your budget.
How much do I need for a down payment?
It depends on the loan program. Some buyers put as little as 3% down, VA loans can be 0%, and FHA loans start at 3.5%. A larger down payment can lower your monthly payment, but you don’t need 20% saved up to buy a home.
Do I need perfect credit to buy a home?
No. Many programs work with credit scores as low as 580–620. A higher score can qualify you for better rates, but don’t let credit worries stop you — we’ll explore the best options for your situation.
